Love it or hate it, Group Policy has been a fixture of Windows configuration management for over a decade. As someone who has been intimately involved in both its past and its future, I have had the same mixed relationship with both Group Policy and Microsoft. Here at SDM Software, we make our living by helping you get more from Group Policy. But occasionally we peek up from behind our code and our GPMC consoles, and want to know what you think about this venerable technology. As a result, we’ve created a short (12 questions) survey, that we want to spread as far and wide as possible, to get folks feedback on the good and bad about GP. Whether you are just starting to use the technology, or are a grizzled veteran, we want to hear from you. Tell us how you use Group Policy, what you like and what you don’t like. And most importantly, tell us where you want the technology to go.

This data is mostly for our own usage, but given that I am a Microsoft MVP in Group Policy, I have a unique ability to get that feedback to the place it matters most–Microsoft. Now, I can’t promise they will listen or even care about the feedback, but I do think it’s important for them to hear from as many Group Policy users as possible. So, if you don’t mind taking 10 minutes out of your day, please visit:

https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/SYY8ZLQ

and take the survey. I will post general results back here to this blog after a couple of weeks, so that you can see what others think about the technology.

Your feedback is important, not just to SDM, but to the community. So, let us know what you think about our favorite configuration management technology.

Thanks!
