Is there a way to delete a GPO entry that references an ADM/ADMX file that no longer exists? Or are you stuck trying to find the old ones and reimport them, delete the GPO entries, then remove the ADM/ADMX files?
Sorry for the delayed response. So, if you know the registry path(s) that those old settings reference (they should be listed in “Extra Registry Settings” in the GPMC settings report, then you can use the Remove-GPRegistryValue PowerShell cmdlet from the Group Policy module to manually remove those entries from the GPO.
Let me know if that doesn’t help or if you have further questions.
They unfortunately are not showing up as extra registry settings.
It appears I was not looking in the right area of the policy though. They show up under Administrator templates under the settings report, but under Classic Administrative Templates when you actually edit the policy.
I appreciate the help anyway. Thanks
OK. That means that they were/are using ADM files rather than ADMX.
